HISTORY OF NEW HAVEN MINISTRIES

New Haven Ministries was founded on September 24th 1998, with 6 members. We were birthed by a desire to offer church related services to the Richmond Hill community with an emphasis on compassion. Our first area of ministry was providing a hot meal to the homeless. Pastor Matthew Singh, founder and senior pastor of this ministry has a personal passion for sharing the loving, caring heart of Jesus to people. This has stemmed from his experiences of a former broken marriage and broken home. God has lovingly restored his own life. Pastor Singh holds a degree in Theology and one in computer science.

Our first board meeting was held on a public park bench in Richmond Hill NY. Shortly after this we met in a very small office space for two years and accommodated a maximum of 25 people. When our church grew to 40 people we were able to purchase our first building on Atlantic Ave, Richmond Hill New York, and accommodated 125 members. We remained in this building for 5 more years and on June 27th 2005 we bought our second building Starlight Pavilion a known community Banquet Hall, which seats 400+ people.

The lord has graciously expanded our vision, our purpose and our membership. We are now nearing 200 members and growing. Our compassion is to share Gods loving heart with people. Our signature is hurt people helping hurting people. We are still feeding the homeless, the shut-ins, the widows and orphans but now teaming up with other national and international organizations like, Pray New York, Eagles Wings, Youth for Christ, and Youths with a Mission, Worship 24 hour, Faith Centre (Trinidad W.I.), and many others, etc.

New Haven Ministries hosted its first 24 hour prayer vigil for the Peace of Jerusalem on October 2nd 2005 and a Michael English concert during the winter 06. We now have plans to host many 24 hours prayer vigils, promote other upcoming Gospel artists, local concerts, banquets and the like at its new facility. Join us for a service this week and share in the vision.

In addition, a dedicated staff is actively involved with all activities of New Haven Ministries.
