Kingdom Kids

The primary purpose of Sunday school is to nurture the faith development of the children of our congregation, teach God’s Word, and to focus on the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20)  Sunday school is not meant to be the only Christian teaching a child receives, but should be in partnership with the teaching of parents and also the hearing of God’s Word in regular church attendance. We pledge to do our best to support you in your child’s spiritual education, and stand ready to help you at any time.

The staff for Sunday school includes:
 • Sunday School Director- Sharda Hosein
 • Classroom teachers- Leah Ralph, Janelle Jairam, Ashmini Gyan, Chris Singh, Sharda Hosein
 • Classroom assistants or helpers- Jayda Persaud, Angelina Hosein, Marisa Kismatali
 • Substitute classroom teachers – Kathy Singh, Asha Shannon
• The Director of Sunday school Sharda Hosein, is under the direction of the Pastoral leadership of NHM.

Hours/Classrooms
Our classes consist of two groups, which are Elementary ages 4-8 and Junior ages 9-12. We are in the process of setting up a pre-k class as need be. We meet every Sunday at 10:45 am, and we have bible class on Wednesdays at 7:00pm.

Use of Bibles
Children of all ages are encouraged to bring their Bibles to Sunday school each week. The lessons all have a Biblical foundation, so the Bible may be used as the most important reference. New Haven Ministries can provide if needed.

Curriculum
New Haven Ministries curriculum, published by Kids Sunday School is normally used. Appropriate-age material is chosen for each class. One of the most important parts of our Sunday school is the teaching of God's Word.
"Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." — Deuteronomy 11:18-19

Parent Volunteering
This is a highly needed area…we encourage and welcome Parents/guardians to contribute time into the SS ministry in some form.  Ranging from event planning, shepherding a class, fundraising, missions, projects, VBS helpers and the list goes on.
